“This was one of the most intense and enriching experiences I have ever lived… Every single day was a chance to learn something new, challenge myself, step out of my comfort zone, and develop a deeper awareness of others.” The words of Silvia Nardi perfectly encapsulate the spirit of the ‘Vibrant Central India Camp,’ the first-ever International Youth Camp & Exchange Program hosted by District 3233-G2.

The camp held in May 2025 was a life-changing experience that bridged continents and created connections that will last a lifetime. For Silvia Nardi from Italy, the trip to India allowed her not only to explore a new culture, but also to grow on a personal level, as she came into contact with lifestyles, values, and traditions that were deeply different from her own. Talking about her host family in Bhopal, she shares that they immediately made her feel at ease. “I had the chance to discover their habits, customs, food, family values, and religious traditions, all of which left a deep impression on me,” says Silvia.
Silvia had another opportunity to immerse herself in the local culture at the District Convention at Maghdham Resort, Vidisha. Nominated by her YCE Chairperson Ms. Paula, Silvia was the only international participant at the camp which saw twenty young participants from Hyderabad, Rajasthan, and across Madhya Pradesh come together for the residential phase, which began on May 5, 2025. Hailing from different regions and diverse backgrounds, they brought fresh perspectives and ideas to the camp.
The program began not with lectures but with introspection. Mr. Sindhu Sharma introduced Heartfulness meditation, creating space for reflection in busy young minds. Radha Bhav Gour from ISKCON drew connections between ancient wisdom from the Bhagavad Gita and modern challenges, encouraging participants to look inward as a foundation for outward growth.
The participants explored Bhopal and Vidisha through guided excursions that went beyond typical sightseeing. These educational journeys connected young people with India’s rich cultural heritage, fostering pride in their roots while preparing them to engage with the wider world.

The camp’s final two days featured dynamic sessions with motivational speaker Lion Anand Mehta. Through interactive training, he helped participants discover their own leadership potential and build confidence in their abilities. The workshops served as a catalyst, igniting purpose and direction in each young person.
The Vibrant Central India Camp saw the presence of Multiple District President Leo Shivam Verma and enthusiastic participation from members of Bhopal Wings Leo Club.

Behind every successful venture stands leadership that believes in possibility. District Governor Manesh Shah PMJF saw potential where others might have seen obstacles. His vision found strong support in Vice District Governors Praveen Vashistha MJF and Mahesh Malviya MJF; Chief Patron PMSC Atul Shah MJF and PDG Dr. R.K. Chourasia.
YCE Chairperson for District 3233-G2 Shalini Bhargava understood that youth programs aren’t just about activities—they’re about opening doors to new worlds. She approached the camp with meticulous care, knowing that every detail would contribute to the larger experience. Working alongside her were Camp Director Rajesh Sukramani and Program In-charge Dr. Arti Sharma.
The entire initiative was successfully hosted by Vidisha Sunrise Lions Club, demonstrating how a single club with vision and commitment can create opportunities that reach far beyond their immediate community.
When the camp concluded, participants carried with them more than certificates or memories. They left with expanded perspectives, new friendships that cross borders, and skills that will serve them throughout their lives. Sometimes the most important journeys are the ones that help us discover not just the world around us, but the potential within us.
I return from Bhopal with a heart full of wonderful memories; I discovered a vibrant and welcoming India, and I met special, genuine, and smiling people I will never forget.
