District 322E Champions Conversations on Mental Health

“Healing takes time, and asking for help is a courageous step.” The words of Mariska Hargitay echoed through the awareness sessions organized by District 322E during the Mental Health and Well-being Week.

In collaboration with Medanta Super Specialty Hospital, Patna, the district created a space where participants could pause, reflect, and speak openly about challenges that often remain unspoken.

The program featured an engaging talk by Dr. Ravikant Kumar, mental health professional with specialization in Psychiatry and super specialization in Addiction Psychiatry. With clarity and warmth, he guided attendees through simple, practical approaches to strengthening emotional resilience and seeking help when needed. The presence of Mr. Ravi Shankar, Medical Director at Medanta Patna, and Lion Neeraj Saxena, Government Liaison Officer with Medanta, reaffirmed their commitment to widening the reach of mental health awareness.

The sessions drew over 100 Lions members from various clubs of the district and nearly 200 beneficiaries, each carrying home not just information but a renewed sense of comfort and connection. For many, it was reassuring to realize that courage often begins with a conversation—and that support is always closer than it seems.

The spirit of open conversation and emotional support continued across the district. Pataliputra Lions Club organized a focused workshop titled ‘Breaking the Silence – Building Self-Confidence and Survival Skills’ on October 12, 2025, in collaboration with BIT Mesra, Patna.

Designed specifically for BIT students, the session encouraged young adults to recognize their emotional strengths, understand stress triggers, and build confidence in navigating daily challenges. The keynote address was delivered by Mr. Ajay Agrawal, a nationally acclaimed motivational speaker, counsellor, and corporate HR consultant. With his calm, practical approach, he guided students through tools for personal growth, emotional balance, and resilience.

Together, these initiatives reflected District 322E’s commitment to creating environments where people—whether Lions members, community participants, or young students—could feel seen, supported, and encouraged to engage with their mental well-being more openly.
