Global Leadership Meets Local Service in MD 320

The visit of International First Vice President Mark S. Lyon and Lion Lyn Lyon to Hyderabad offered Lions of MD 320 an opportunity to engage closely with global leadership while showcasing the depth and diversity of service across the multiple. Long known as the City of Pearls and today a meeting point of heritage and modern enterprise, Hyderabad provided an apt setting for conversations around service, continuity, and membership growth.

The first stop was the Lions Pavani Hospice Project in Batasingaram, where construction is underway for a hospice facility. Walking through the site, Vice President Mark Lyon spoke with district leaders and recognized the philanthropists supporting the project. MPCC Dr. Ch. Prakash Rao outlined the vision behind the hospice, emphasizing its focus on dignity, serenity, and comfort for patients and families navigating end-of-life care.

The clarity of purpose guiding the project was evident, and both visitors expressed interest in returning to the hospice once it becomes operational.

Later that evening, Vice President Mark Lyon and Lion Lyn Lyon attended the MD 320 Council Officers Meeting, where the Council of Governors presented district reports and highlighted ongoing initiatives. Vice President Mark Lyon congratulated the District Governor teams on their year’s work. A fellowship banquet followed, allowing informal dialogue and connection.

The next day began with a visit to the M. S. Reddy Lions Eye Hospital, where the delegation toured the facilities. This was followed by a session with Leo members of MD 320. Vice President Mark Lyon encouraged the young leaders to carry forward the values of service and leadership.
