Kakinada Elite Lions Club marks more than a decade of purpose-driven service.

In 2014, Kakinada Elite Lions Club, District 316B, was founded on a simple commitment: to serve the city and the communities around it with consistency and purpose. More than a decade later, that commitment has translated into work that is difficult to capture in a single list — but evident across the region it serves.

The club’s initiatives touch every major Lions cause area. Through vision camps, thousands of rural residents and students have received free eye screenings and spectacles. Diabetes screening and awareness drives have reached communities where the condition often goes undetected. Food drives and grocery distribution have ensured no one goes to bed hungry. Essential supplies have reached flood and fire victims, while cancer awareness and early detection education have carried health information into areas with limited access to medical services. Each year, the club plants and maintains 1,000 saplings and distributes 5,000 clay Ganesha idols during festivals, encouraging environmentally responsible alternatives to traditional practices.

Its permanent projects tell another part of the story. Five fully automatic water treatment plants, each set up at a cost of ₹1.5 lakh, now serve public parks, temples, schools, and rural neighborhoods across Kakinada.

A bicycle shed at Tatiparthy School in Pitapuram gives students one less obstacle between home and the classroom. In remote tribal communities, mosquito nets, blankets, and nutritional supplements have reached families in need. Sewing machines donated to women beneficiaries have created opportunities for livelihood and economic independence.

The club’s work has extended beyond welfare initiatives into youth and culture. Two national-level chess competitions, district and state-level dance events, and the IMPACT Programme have enriched this effort. The IMPACT Programme has empowered 1,800 students through leadership and career counselling.  The club also hosts the Annual   District Sports Meet and Special Events for athletes with physical disabilities.

More than a decade in, Kakinada Elite Lions Club is not looking back on what it has achieved. It continues to widen the circle of work it set in motion in 2014.
