The cartons were opened on the classroom floor at the Government Senior Secondary School, Bhimlat in the Bundi district of Rajasthan, and within minutes the room shifted. Students who had been sitting cross-legged in orderly rows were suddenly on their feet, arms raised, sweaters still sealed in clear plastic held high above their heads.
There was laughter. A bit of jostling. Sleeves shaken out and tried on over light blue uniforms. Some children checked the fit against their shoulders; others compared colours with friends before settling back down on the mats.
Bijainagar Royal Leo Club, District 3233-E2 had organised the distribution to prepare students for the winter months that tend to be harsh in the region. More than 100 sweaters were handed out, each one received with visible eagerness. Alongside this, 270 stationery kits—containing notebooks, pens, and pencils—were distributed across classes.
Many students opened their notebooks immediately, flipping through crisp pages before stacking them carefully in their laps. For some families, these are routine purchases. For others, they require planning. Removing that small but steady pressure makes a difference.
The initiative was led by Club President Amit Badola, Secretary Mohit Patodi, and Media In-charge Pawan Bohra, and supported by Leo members.
Encouraging the students, Zone Chairperson Lion Rajkumar Bindal said: “There is no shortcut to success. Education is your strongest weapon. Study well, use every opportunity, and make your parents and school proud.”
When the distribution ended, the classroom returned to its usual rhythm. Only now, sleeves were being tugged into place, and fresh notebooks rested beside them.
